Do you ever struggle to stay focused during your prayer time?
You want to pray, but sometimes you feel distracted or aren’t sure what to pray about.
A friend shares a struggle with you that you tell her you’ll keep her in prayer, and you have the best intentions, but you go about your day and soon forget.
You like the idea of a prayer binder but you can’t seem to find the time or feel you lack the creativity* to make one.
You have a prayer binder but you’d like something more portable, to access on the go.
You don’t want to feel guilty about struggling with prayer. You know it matters, but sometimes it feels mundane and more of a duty than something you look forward to.
If any of these statements resonate with you, or if you’re just curious,
I’m so glad you’ve found this page!
A prayer journal that helps you be more focused and deliberate in your quiet time might be just what you need.
Four simple prompts.
One meaningful conversation with God.
The journal is built around the PRAY framework —
a gentle, four-part structure that guides your prayer time
without rushing you or making it feel formulaic.
P- praise
Spend time praising God for who He is. Pray through His names, proclaim His holiness, sing His worth — reorienting your heart toward Him before anything else.
R- request
Pour your heart out to God. Bring your own physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs — and intercede for others, too: your loved ones, your leaders, the ministries and missions on your heart.
A- adore
Move from praising who God is to praising who He is to you. This is the personal, intimate turn — telling God what He means in your own life.
Y- yield
Surrender your will and your desires, trusting God and His perfect plan. Confess the places you're weak, and offer yourself to be used for His purposes and His glory.
A prayer journal made to actually use.
This isn't just a pretty template — it's a guided prayer experience designed to help you show up and stay present. Here's what you'll find inside:
A guided page for each part of the PRAY framework — Praise, Request, Adore, and Yield, each one designed to gently focus your time
A word to reflect on — each section opens with the meaning of its word, a small invitation to slow down and consider what it really means
A suggestion for how to use it — simple, practical guidance so you're never unsure what to do on the page
Scriptures to guide you — a handful of relevant verses for each section, so God's Word leads the way
Day-of-the-week tabs — to help you pray through different people, ministries, or focuses across your week
Choose the format that fits you — both included free:
Digital — use it on your iPad or tablet in GoodNotes or any annotation app
Printable — print it at home and keep it in a binder or folder, just like a paper prayer journal
Use one, use both — whatever helps you show up and stay present.
It started with a binder.
I made my first prayer binder years ago, and then created an updated version in 2018 after watching a video from The Reset Girl and gathering inspiration from Pinterest. I loved making it personal, and it genuinely helped me stay focused and present in my prayer time.
A few months later, I went on a couple of trips and wanted to bring my prayer binder along — but it was far too bulky for a carry-on. So I made a digital version I could take anywhere, on my iPad.
After several years of using it (and more than a few tweaks along the way), I decided to offer it as a free gift — in hopes that it might help someone else with an easily distracted mind like mine.
That's the whole reason it exists: not to add one more thing to your plate, but to make one meaningful thing a little easier.
Now there are two free downloadable versions to choose from: digital and printable.
Ready to spend more focused time with God?
The Wholehearted Prayer Journal is free — digital and printable versions both included. Choose the one that fits you, or use them both.
